Mary Immaculate Manager of Sterile Process Department Earns Fellowship
Newport News, Va. (June 16, 2009)–Mary Immaculate Hospital, a division of Bon Secours Hampton Roads, is pleased to announce that Sharon Greene-Golden, manager of sterile process, has earned a fellowship in the International Association of Healthcare Central Services Materiel Management (IAHCSMM). The fellowship was awared at the annual meeting in May. To qualify for this prestigious fellowship status, Golden met a series of criteria and submitted a research paper entitled Boiling: The Answer to High-Level Disinfection of Instruments in a Third World Country Village. The paper, based on her medical mission to two Bangladesh villages earlier this year as part of a surgical team, will be published next year. In addition to receiving fellowship status, Golden was elected to the executive board of the IAHCSMM.
